Materials you'll need:
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Cutting wheel or scissors
- Scrap paper
- Glue gun
- Toothpicks, dowels, or straws
Cut your scrap paper into circles to your desired pinwheel diameter. Use 4-5 sheets per pinwheel. Stack them and fold accordion-style for a dynamic rosette effect. For multiples, vary fold widths for visual interest.
Secure the ends of each accordion strip with staples, tape, or hot glue so it stands upright like a fan.
Lay the folded paper flat, wrinkled side down—this step takes patience, but stick with it to avoid undoing your folds.
Insert a toothpick, dowel, or straw into the center. Hold steady, then apply a generous dollop of hot glue to one of the back folds at the center. Press the handle in firmly so it protrudes from the front.
