As experienced DIY crafters, we've mastered the art of giant bubbles that captivate kids and adults alike. Using affordable, easy-to-find materials, craft a durable bubble wand and a robust solution for massive, long-lasting bubbles. No guar gum? This wand pairs perfectly with our other homemade bubble recipes.

Paint the dowels in a fun color and let them dry completely for a vibrant, personalized wand.

No tools needed—simply twist the screw eyes into the ends of each dowel.

Cut one piece of chenille yarn about 45 inches long and another about 70 inches long.

Tie each end of the shorter yarn securely to one screw eye using strong knots.

Thread one or two washers onto the longer yarn, then tie each end to the screw eyes. This forms a weighted triangle: shorter yarn on top, longer sagging in the middle.

Assemble your supplies: distilled water (soft tap water works too), guar gum (available online or at health stores), baking powder, rubbing alcohol, and dish soap.

In a small bowl, combine 1 heaping teaspoon guar gum, 1 heaping teaspoon baking powder, and 2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol. Stir until smooth.

Pour 1 gallon of water into a bucket and stir vigorously to create a vortex. Add the suspension to the center while stirring.

Continue stirring and slowly pour in 1 cup dish soap to the center, minimizing foam. Let the mixture rest for at least 10 minutes.

Dip the yarn triangle fully into the solution. Lift slowly, open the dowels, and wave gently. A light breeze helps; otherwise, walk backward slowly for epic bubbles.
