Elegant DIY Paper Petal Cones for Wedding Reception Tables

Materials and Tools:

  • Self-healing cutting mat
  • Needle
  • Scissors
  • 1/4-inch wide satin ribbon
  • Ruler
  • 1/8-inch diameter single hole punch
  • Anna Griffin Decorative Paper (12 x 12 inches)
  • Double-sided tape
  • Adhesive paper
  • Cutter
  • Transparent rubber stamp
  • Gold stamping ink
  • Laser printer
  • Petal fillings: rose petals, lavender, or caramel-covered almonds

Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Print the petal cone template on the blank side of 12 x 12-inch Anna Griffin Decorative Paper. Alternatively, use 8-1/2 x 11-inch paper.
  2. Cut along the solid template lines using a craft knife or scissors. Mark the dotted lines with a pencil, using a ruler as a guide.
  3. Punch two 1/8-inch holes as indicated on the pattern. Thread the ribbon through the holes and knot both ends on the smooth side of the paper.
  4. Apply double-sided tape along the dotted lines. Fold the 90-degree corner of the paper to the dotted line without creasing the folded edge.
  5. Roll the paper twice until it meets the vertical dotted line.
  6. Fold the remaining paper flap around the cone and press firmly to seal with the adhesive.
  7. Print the gold circle template on adhesive paper. Stamp a custom monogram in the center of each circle using the rubber stamp and gold ink.
  8. Peel off the patterned stickers and adhere them to the cone. Fill with rose petals, lavender, or caramel-covered almonds, then fold the top flaps to seal.
  9. Hang the finished cones on the back of each guest's chair for a charming reception touch.
