To choose your recipe, you'll need to use the Google Assistant on Android or Google Search on iOS or Android. Simply search for your recipe as you normally would, and once you've decided what's for dinner, tap the Send to Google Home button. button. (You can even do this on your commute home, you don't have to be in range of the device to do it.)

Search results from the Food Network, Epicurious, Bon Appetit and The New York Times are included in the available recipes. Once you're in the kitchen, use one of the following voice commands to start cooking:

  • “Ok google, start cooking.”
  • “Ok google, start recipe.”

You can have Google read the ingredients to you one by one, in groups of three, or you can skip this step if you already have your ingredients ready. Next, Google Home will dictate the recipe, step by step. When you're ready for the next instructions, just say:

  • “Ok google, next step.”

You can also make Google repeat any step by saying:

  • “Ok google repeat.”
  • “Ok google, what's step two?”
