Make the cover

To make the band-inspired hat and Mason jar lid, cut a 15" circle from the foam core. Cut 1" to 2" squares from the remaining foam core. Then cut a ring from the cardstock plastic with a 15" diameter and 11" hole to create the Mason jar band.

Step 8

Cut two 3-1/2” strips lengthwise from the plastic cardstock. Tape the pieces together to make the border and use a glue gun to secure it to the edge of the foam circle.

Sit for the head strap

Cut two slits in the top of the hat, the distance between them should be about the width of the wearer's head. Attach a safety pin to the end of the tape. Put it in one slot below and over the top and down through the other slot so that the ends are inside the hat.

Step 13
