IKEA is countering Black Friday's shopping frenzy with Bring Back Friday, spotlighting its innovative Furniture Trade-In service at the Swedish home furnishings giant.
Through this service, IKEA buys back furniture in good condition at a reduced price, reselling it via the popular Koopjeshoek to give it a new home. Now available in all Dutch stores, it supports IKEA's goal of becoming circular and climate-positive by 2030.
Timing the launch around Black Friday—a symbol of overconsumption—IKEA encourages customers to trade in furniture. The Bring Back Friday campaign runs from November 15 to November 26, 2021. Family members receive up to 50% of the original purchase value, not just 15%.
Visit IKEA.nl to input your furniture details and condition for a non-binding quote—30-50% of the original price. If it matches upon store return, get an indefinite IKEA voucher. IKEA resells via Koopjeshoek at voucher value, with no added margin.

“With this service, we create a second-hand range of quality furniture in our stores. It makes sustainable choices easy and rewarding for sellers and buyers alike—a key step toward circularity. This year, we aim to give 20,000 products a second life.”
