Veritable represents a double innovation: an autonomous indoor vegetable garden equipped with LED lighting, available in a standard version or a smart version that adjusts lighting based on ambient conditions for optimal efficiency. Its patented Veritable Ingots—pre-grown plant inserts—deliver up to six months of continuous harvest, making fresh produce accessible year-round.
Founded by two innovative engineers in their thirties, Nicolas Gehin and Tony Campillo, who met during their studies in Lyon. Nicolas specializes in electronics and LED lighting, while Tony holds a PhD in microbiology and plant health. Leveraging their expertise, they've developed the Veritable system, launching in April 2016. To fund production scaling, they've launched a Kickstarter campaign targeting €50,000—and it's off to a strong start.
Urban dwellers crave healthier eating and a connection to nature. A 2014 TNS survey found 43% of French people engage in some form of home production. Veritable addresses key concerns in modern agriculture: poor traceability, pesticide controversies, and the demand for fresh, locally grown, ripe-harvested produce. As pioneers in urban agriculture, Veritable empowers anyone to become an 'apartment farmer.'
