A bulbous is a very specific plant variety that is able to regenerate annually. Each year, the flower reforms on its own thanks to appropriate maintenance. Its particularity is that it is made up of a bulb armed with nutritive reserves which allow it to resist the worst climatic conditions. When the flower dies, the bulb continues to live to bloom again the following spring. Bulbous plants planted in the fall usually bloom in the spring season. With a few exceptions such as snowdrops, which are more visible in winter, or gladioli, which are summer flowers.
Before starting your planting and when choosing your bulbs, be careful and take only those of high caliber, without brown necrosis or blue spots. For your plants to grow properly, the soil must be healthy, free from all diseases.
Tulips, hyacinths, crocuses, grape hyacinths, narcissus or squill are all autumn bulbs that you will enjoy seeing bloom in your garden in the spring. The advantage is that it is possible to mix different species and varieties, since the maintenance, planting and watering of these bulbous plants are almost identical.
In the category of classic flowers, tulips take pride of place. Today, they come in a beautiful color palette, even black. Only downside:with their high stems, they are abused in the rainy season. The crocus is a real warrior who does not fear winter attacks. It can even pierce snow. That's why you need to have some in your garden in order to continue enjoying pretty colors, even if the mercury is at its lowest. Crocuses can be associated with squills within your bed. This species will bring a nice bluish touch to your garden. On the other hand, as the flowers are quite short, they will have to be planted in the front.
And let's not forget the muscari, a great classic, resistant to almost all weather conditions and looking so cheerful. Depending on the variety, it offers a range of beautiful colors:purple, white, pale or dark blue. This plant has the advantage of multiplying quickly and will thrive both in pots and in the ground in your garden.
Last variety and not least:the narcissus is as famous as the tulip. Taking place both in pots and in the garden, it provides pretty shapes and beautiful colors. Its yellow tones will be perfect for restoring morale and a little dynamism in the spring.
