Skip salt dough this holiday season and craft these sweet-scented cinnamon ornaments instead. With years of crafting experience, I've found they infuse your home with authentic cinnamon warmth that lasts all winter.

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees. In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of applesauce. Stir well until combined.

Stir in 1/3 cup craft glue and mix thoroughly.

Use your hands to work in the glue fully, then knead the mixture into a smooth ball.

Place the dough ball on parchment paper and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.

Use cookie cutters to create ornament shapes and transfer them to a baking sheet.

Use a toothpick to poke a hole at the top of each ornament for hanging with ribbon or a hook.

Bake at 200 degrees for two hours.

Let them cool completely before decorating. Hang with baker's twine for a charming rustic finish.
