Transform a simple ready-made felt skirt into a dazzling vintage Christmas tree skirt using craft felt, jewelry accents, and a hot glue gun—no sewing skills required. As an experienced crafter, I've perfected this quick, customizable project for holiday magic.

Find pre-made blank felt tree skirts at most department stores in festive seasonal colors—scalloped edges are essential for that classic look. You can craft your own if you prefer. Stock up on an assortment of craft felt sheets.

Drawing inspiration from vintage 1960s Jewel Brite ornaments—those charming foil-lined diamond dioramas—start by cutting your craft felt into hexagon shapes to evoke their distinctive style.

Create paper templates for timeless shapes like angels, Christmas trees, French horns, and bells to trace onto your felt.

After cutting out all your felt patterns, arrange them to plan your design layout, then set them aside.

Cut slightly smaller hexagons from silver glitter canvas sheets and divide each into four sections for a diamond illusion. Glue them onto your felt hexagons, then attach the pattern shapes on top for added sparkle.

Hot glue the finished appliqués onto your tree skirt. Sewing or embroidering works too, but this no-sew approach keeps it simple and seamless.

Adorn with hot glue, sequins, and gemstones—go as bright and shiny as possible! Sequin ribbon by the yard makes perfect edging trim.
