As a DIY expert with years of crafting experience, I've perfected this envelope-style cushion cover. It fits any pillow insert perfectly, requires minimal sewing, and skips buttons or zippers entirely. You'll love how quick it is—ideal for frequent style swaps.
Always pre-wash and dry your fabric before starting to prevent shrinkage.

Measure the length and width of your pillow insert. Add 1/2 inch to the width for seam allowances. For the length, double this measurement and add 3 inches for the envelope overlap.

Transfer these measurements to your fabric and cut out the rectangle precisely.

Sew a 1/4-inch hem along the two short ends of the fabric. These will form the envelope's opening edges.

With right sides facing up, fold the fabric in half so the hemmed edges overlap by 3 inches, creating the envelope opening.

Pin the sides securely, then sew a 1/4-inch seam along each side of the cushion cover.

Turn the cover right side out, press with an iron to smooth wrinkles, then insert and fluff your pillow.
