For a vibrant result, select long socks with colorful patterns. Match your yarn and felt colors to the socks for a cohesive look.

Turn the sock inside out—the toe becomes the feet, and the heel forms the face with the cuff as ears. Note: The cuff can be bulky under the machine; a walking foot helps.
Cut rectangles from the top and bottom as shown in Image 1. The sock should resemble Image 2. Sew around the ears and feet, leaving the space between feet open for stuffing.

Turn right side out and use a pencil to push ears through. Stuff firmly with polyester filling, starting with ears. Use the pencil for tight spots. Hand-sew the opening closed.

Thread a tapestry needle with embroidery floss, knot one end, and secure under the fabric. Stitch up 1/8 inch and back down. Run thread down 3 inches to the belly bottom, emerge on the other side, and secure at the first stitch. Trim excess. Repeat opposite side.

Sew on buttons for eyes. Cut an oval from felt and attach to the heel for a cute oversized nose.
