How to make a pet bed out of an office chair

Introduction

We found an old office chair at a thrift store. After cleaning it up, we removed the legs and added pads to the bottom so the chair would sit on the floor. We then made a machine washable cover and personalized it with the owner's name. This project requires no power tools and costs very little money.

Remove the metal legs from the chair.

Add Furniture Pads

To make the chair stable and to protect your floor, add furniture pads to the bottom of the chair. If they are not self-adhesive, fix them with hot glue. Place the largest pads in the four corners and the four smaller ones (two on top of each other) towards the front to prevent the chair from tipping.

Create the cover

Flip the chair over and place a blanket on it; Start cutting the pieces to make the cover. Start with the back and sides, save the trim for later. Be sure to leave extra room when cutting, as it's easier to cut the extra fabric later.
