Vintage beaded sweaters are a rare and hard thing to find when looking for antiques. If you are lucky enough to lend a hand, it will most likely cost you a bit. With the help of fabric paint, you can make your own version. Use round sponge brushes to make polka dots and a fine tipped fabric paint to create the effect of raised beads. This option also allows you to choose the color scheme you want.

Why not paint some elbow patches instead of sewing them on? Mark elbows on sweaters while wearing. Take off the sweater and stretch your elbows on a cup or a piece of cardboard. Draw a heart and fill it in with soft fabric paint. Add faux stitches with a fabric or permanent marker.
