Make a bunch of these scary eyeballs and scatter them all over your front yard. Kids are sure to get a kick out of them.
These spooky crafts are so easy to make.
Use medium grit sandpaper to roughen the surface of the ball. This will help the paint adhere better to the surface of the ball. Wipe off residue with a dry cloth before painting.
Apply an even coat of spray paint to the ball. You can use primer or white paint for this. Several coats of spray paint will probably be necessary. Sand with fine grit sandpaper between coats to remove any irregularities, bumps, etc.
Once the ball is covered in several coats of spray paint and is completely dry, place a medium bowl in the center of the ball. Then trace the outside of the bowl all the way around with black paint.
Now that a perfect circle has been formed, remove the container and completely fill the circle with black paint to make the pupil.
Wait for the paint to dry completely. Then create the iris by using blue paint to make a large circle around the pupil. Use the circle you already created for the pupil as a guide for the shape of the iris.
After the iris has dried, paint wavy red lines on the side of the eye, heading towards the pupil and iris area. The more random and uneven the lines, the more natural it will look, so don't be afraid to experiment a bit.
Wait for the paint to dry completely to make any necessary touch-ups. Then apply a clear spray sealer. Let the sealer dry according to label directions.
