These eerie glowing eyes straight out of a Scooby-Doo episode are a Halloween staple in my decade-plus of yard haunting. Craft them from toilet paper rolls, insert glow sticks for an otherworldly glow, and tuck pairs into bushes along your walkway to thrill—and chill—trick-or-treaters.

Draw or print a pair of creepy eyes. Carefully cut them out with scissors or a craft knife.

Position the template on a toilet paper roll and trace the eye shapes onto the cardboard.

Fill in the traced eyes with black marker or paint—it makes cutting cleaner and easier.

Once colored, precisely cut out the eye openings from the tube using scissors or a craft knife.

Poke small holes at each end of the tube near the top. Thread string through for hanging. On Halloween, activate a glow stick, slide it inside, and position in bushes for maximum scare factor.
