Most hardware or metal shops will cut galvanized sheet metal for you. Use the back insert of the picture frame as a guide to determine the correct size.
Clean and sand frame to remove existing finish. This will help the new paint adhere to the surface.
Apply two coats of paint to the frame. Let the first coat dry completely before applying the second.
When the paint is dry, use painter's tape to create a pattern on the frame. We did basic stripes. Be sure to press the edges of the tape down to prevent the paint from bleeding.
Apply paint over the painter’s tape and the entire painting. Let dry and then apply a second coat.
When the paint is dry, slowly remove the painter's tape. Use a small paintbrush to make any necessary touch-ups.
Insert the galvanized sheet metal into the frame, then replace the backing and press down on the frame staples or tabs to secure the pieces in place.
