Spray the inside of the eggshell half with metallic spray paint (Image 1). Let it dry completely before applying a second coat. Then, coat the outside with flat black spray paint (Image 2). Add another layer, allowing full drying time between coats—overnight works best for a flawless finish.
Position the light kit as a guide and trace a hole in the bottom center of the eggshell using a permanent marker.
Drill small holes around the traced circle's interior. Connect them into a larger hole with a rotary tool and blade attachment. Smooth the edges using the sanding attachment.
Follow the light kit instructions to position and hang the fixture securely.
