This elegant DIY project, designed by stylist Joanne Palmisano and photographed by Susan Teare, transforms recycled glass jars into versatile wedding favors. They double as stunning centerpieces and personalized table assignments. Fill jars with evergreens, adorn with decorative paper and twine, and attach tags showing the guest's name and table number on one side, plus planting and care instructions for the sapling on the other.

Collect old glass jars and clean them thoroughly. Soak in warm water to remove labels easily, ensuring a pristine base for your favors.

Add about 1 inch of clear glass marbles to the bottom for stability and sparkle. Layer in potting soil, insert the evergreen sapling, and top with more soil. Wipe excess dirt from the jar's exterior for a clean finish.

Cut wrapping paper to wrap around the jar. Glue it in place, securing the seam neatly. Wrap a wide ribbon around the center (use a dot of glue on the back to hold), then add a narrower ribbon, intertwining for decorative bows.

Design tags with planting and care instructions for the sapling on one side, and guest name plus table number on the other. Brown construction paper from craft stores is ideal. Use Word's mailing label templates, print, and punch a hole for string attachment.
