Using a drill bit, create a 1-1/2-inch hole in the bottom center of the basket. This size accommodates a plug for plug-in setups or wiring for hardwired installations, ensuring a secure fit.

About two inches from the socket on the pendant kit, use all-purpose wire strippers to carefully cut away the white cable jacket.

With multi-purpose wire strippers, snip through the wire sheathing to reveal the individual wires inside.

Slide the exposed cable through the galvanized metal conduit and canopy.

Insert the socket and cable assembly through the hole in the basket bottom.

Join the socket wires to the pendant kit's longer cord using butt splices and your multi-purpose wire strippers for a solid connection.

Wrap the spliced connections firmly with electrical tape to insulate and protect the wiring.

Unwind rope from the spool and use a hot glue gun to seal the end neatly.

Apply hot glue to cover the galvanized metal conduit and canopy with rope. For best results, wrap after mounting the canopy to the ceiling, using the pre-drilled screw hole for secure installation.

Screw in a compatible bulb to complete the fixture.
For a soft, diffused glow, attach a ready-made diffuser to the basket opening with finishing screws and a drill. Or craft your own from a 24" x 24" acrylic sheet using a jigsaw, then sand edges smooth with fine-grit sandpaper.
