As an experienced crafter, I've found you don't need sewing skills to create stunning personalized pillows. Transform store-bought pillowcases into charming 'His and Hers' designs using simple stencils and fabric paint.
Fabric paint is ideal for durability, but if you won't machine-wash the pillowcases, other paints work fine.

On separate sheets of paper, write 'HIS' and 'HERS' in large, bold letters. Print from your computer using a classic font for a polished look. Tape the paper to a window, cut freezer paper at least 2” larger than the letters on all sides, and glue it shiny side up over the words. Trace around the letters with a pen or pencil.

Peel off the freezer paper and place it on a cutting mat. Use a craft knife to carefully cut around the letter edges, removing the centers to create your stencil.

Iron your store-bought pillowcase smooth. Position it right side up, place the stencil shiny side down over the area for letters, and iron until the edges fully adhere.

Slide a piece of aluminum foil inside the pillowcase center to prevent paint from bleeding through to the back.

Ensure the pillowcase is right side up with foil secure. Using fabric paint and a sponge brush, gently dab paint over the stencil openings for crisp letters.

Follow the same process for the matching pillow and allow both to dry completely.

Slide the inserts back in and enjoy your custom 'His and Hers' throw pillows.
