Download and print heart-patterned paper, or use scrapbook paper. Trim off the white edges with scissors and save them for later. Cut out a heart shape approximately 2-1/2 inches tall as your template.
Use your first heart as a template to cut 10 to 12 more hearts from the patterned paper. Vary the orientation for added visual interest and texture.
From the heart-patterned paper, cut a small circle about 1-3/4 to 2 inches in diameter. It doesn't need to be perfectly round—a freehand cut works fine.
Fold the pointed tip of each heart inward to give your petals realistic shape and depth.
Apply a dab of hot glue to the center of the circle. Attach the folded points of 5 hearts, overlapping them slightly. Add more glue to the center and layer additional petals until you achieve a full, lush flower.
Take a strip of the saved white paper and cut fringes 3/4 of the way through lengthwise, leaving a solid edge intact. Tightly roll the fringed strip to form the flower's stamen.
Add hot glue to the flower's center and secure the rolled fringe strip. Gently fluff the fringes outward for a full, realistic bloom.
