Trim your flowers to the desired length—approximately 4 to 5 inches is ideal for a neat, balanced boutonniere.

Arrange the flowers in your preferred design and secure the base of the stems with plastic wrap. Wrap floral tape around the stems, starting about ½ inch below the flower heads and working downward to cover everything. This prevents sap from staining your suit or tuxedo.

Cut one or two pieces of ribbon, 10 to 12 inches long. Tie a bow around the stems, trim the excess ribbon ends, and apply Fray Check to prevent unraveling for a polished finish.

Secure the boutonniere to the lapel using a floral pin for a secure, professional hold.
