Rinse bottles thoroughly and remove all labels.
Use a utility knife to cut off the top and bottom, leaving a smooth cylinder.
Cut the cylinder in half lengthwise and flatten the plastic as much as possible.

Starting at the skirt's waistband, staple scales in overlapping rows. Position each new row to conceal the staples from the row above.
