With years of upcycling experience, I turned a thrift store dresser drawer into a sturdy, personalized pet bed. We cleaned and painted it, added reliable feet for elevation, customized it with wooden letters, and filled it with a plush pillow for ultimate comfort.

Remove the drawer handle permanently. Position four wooden blocks at the inside corners and secure with wood glue. Weigh them down with heavy items like rocks while drying. These blocks ensure the legs have a firm grip, preventing wobble or damage to the thin drawer bottom.

Apply paint evenly to the entire drawer and wooden feet. Allow full drying, then add a second coat if needed for a professional finish.

On the drawer bottom, mark spots for the feet—about 1 inch from each corner edge, ensuring identical positioning. Pre-drill small holes, narrower than the screw feet, for secure stability.

Screw the feet into the pre-drilled holes by twisting firmly. Add wood glue to the top of each for extra reinforcement.

Sand the back of the wooden letters lightly for better glue adhesion. Apply glue and position them neatly on the drawer's front.

Insert a pillow for coziness. Wrap it in a removable, washable sheet for easy cleaning and maintenance.
