As experienced woodworkers, we always start with a precise plan. For this project, the bookcase slides into a knee wall in a renovated attic to maximize storage. Sketch the full dimensions to accurately size each plywood piece.
Using a table saw, precisely cut the birch plywood pieces for the bookcase. Safety first: wear protective gear and measure twice, cut once.

Apply wood glue and use a nail gun to assemble the bookcase. Ensure all corners are square and shelves are level before nailing.
Safety Alert: Always handle nail guns with extreme caution—these tools can drive nails through wood or body parts instantly.
Sand the surfaces smooth, apply primer, and paint to your preference. Allow the paint to dry fully before installation.

Slide the shelf into the wall opening. Verify it's level with a spirit level, using shims if needed. Use a straightedge to ensure the frame is flush with the wall and tight against the studs. Secure by driving nails through the shelf sides into the studs. If shims are used, nail through them too, then break off any protruding edges.

Install wood trim to frame the shelf professionally and conceal gaps between the shelf and wall.
